Entrepreneurship by Formerly Unemployed
In his dissertation at the Chair for Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization (ENTC) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Peter is part of an international team of researchers which investigates governmental programs to foster entrepreneurship among unemployed individuals. In the years 2009-2012 they have conducted a survey-based study with more than 48'000 participants from Switzerland, Germany, France and Belgium to improve understanding of the process and outcomes of firm creation by formerly unemployed individuals – an overarching question that has important implications for research on entrepreneurship, practice as well as public policy.
This scientific approach has strenghtened our teams knowledge with respect to governmental programs surrounding the topic of entrepreneurship as well as underlying mechanisms which characterize entrepreneurs.
You can read a summary (German) of the governmental reports which evolved from this study below. A French version is also available. If you are interested in learning more about this study, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would be happy to organize a workshop for your organization.
