This research project is designed to serve as a follow-up of earlier projects conducted by Prof. Dr. Marc Gruber. In 2004 he started investigating governmental programs in Germany to help unemployed individuals transition to self-employment. As a follow-up project (2009-2013), Prof. Gruber and Peter Vogel conducted an international research project in Switzerland, Germany, France and Belgium, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). This new project will extend to developing countries and emerging markets to better understand issues such as necessity entrepreneurship.
